Red Sky Energy Limited (ASX code ROG) is an exploration company that is focussed on coal seam gas (CSG). Over the period from July to October 2009 Red Sky acquired significant exploration acreage holdings across a number of basins. This included the acquisition of Cydonia Resources, Norwest Hydrocarbons and Surat Resources, with substantial acreage positions in Queensland and New South Wales, as well as a farm-in to Central Petroleum's extensive acreage holdings in the Northern Territory. Red Sky also has new management in place.
Rohan Gillespie, who has previous experience as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in charge of BHP Billiton's CSG business, joined Red Sky as Executive Director in January 2010. Prior to joining Red Sky Murray Durham was Director of Oil and Gas Marketing at Apache Energy before joining Apache was Global Business Manager for BHP Billiton's CSG business. Gerrit de Nys, who joined Red Sky as Chairman in October 2009, brings to the Company a wealth of coporate experience, extensive business building skills and industry contacts.
